Seymour Schachter, world class illustrator and artist with golden credentials. His artwork is in millions of households across America, most often on cereal boxes and product labels. They see Fred Flintstone on Cocoa Pebbles, Skippy, Ragu, Tetley, Newman's Own, Arm and Hammer products, Orajel and hundreds of others. He has done thousands of illustrations, and over 250 cereal box covers. He is considered among the top commercial artists in the country. Although he was thought an artistic prodigy, his “old school” parents insisted he go to business school.
He chose Boston University, but because it enabled him to study at BU’s College of Fine Art. Three-time gold winner of the prestigious Reggie award, gold winner in packaging art from the Ad Club of Connecticut, gold medal winner for best package art at the Graphic Design Awards. His parents told him he’d never make a living doing art. His story and path is unique. Eventually his folks realized his talent, and that he could make a good living.
