SAFFER, HM

American Impressionist & Sumi-E
In 1965, Saffer went to Paris to take economics classes, but wound up becoming a musician with Hugues Aufray, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. He was hired by Barclay Records as a producer and had several hits during the late 1960s. During this time he also was chef/owner of two restaurants in Paris and later a third in Ibiza, Spain. However, all during this era he never stopped painting and exhibiting. He took classes at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and had exhibits in Paris and Brussels before returning to the U.S. in 1970. 
H.M. started his music career with Warner Brothers where he co-wrote the international hit song “Look What They Done To My Song Ma” recorded by pop star Melanie. While at Warner Brothers he painted a 40-foot mural in their Madison Ave. headquarters. In 1972 he was hired by Bob Crewe and became VP for the Crewe Group of Companies working with the Four Seasons, Oliver, and Vicki Carr. In 1972 he established HMS Two Enterprises, Ltd. And HMS Two Music, Ltd. dealing in writing and producing music for film, commercials, records, and Broadway shows.
