REUTER
Marquetry
Reuter is a self-taught marquetry artist, specializing in original all-natural wood veneer picture displays, often multi-media, including wooden carvings. He uses a variety of light and dark woods to reflect nature’s beauty of the world’s natural venues. It takes several months to create each work of art.
All his pieces are one-of-a-kind, handmade and hand-cut, dating from 2001 to 2025. Most of his works began as conceptual drawings, initially inspired by his various sports endeavors.Years ago, he assisted the Metropolitan Museum of Art in their analytical testing of paints for painting authentication. After retiring in 2018 as a senior scientist at an internationally recognized company, he sought inspiration from his love of the outdoors and natural splendors, many of which he has personally experienced. His unique hand-crafted art captures those splendors in hopes they bring a smile to others.
